I have now in my 4th session of my Shake tutorials. We have been using “tracker” to match 3d images together and video footage. This is a screen shot of some of the work.

This is the music video for roykshopp’s “happy up here”. Although the video is nearly all 3d graphics i like how some of the objects could be. The video is a real life replication of the retro game space invaders.

It’s finally all over. after much research and learning the project is complete!
My aim for the projetc was to push the idea of kinetic type as far as possibe. I wanted to step away from the purely software created pieces and create a strong narrative led piece.
I looked into various music videos and other peoples motion graphics work. Although one of the biggest ideals i wanted to demonstrate were influenced by Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and my new relationship. I found the emotinal connection with these things led my ideas throughout.
I was toying with the idea of loss, connections and memory. I intended to have a split screen piece. Where each side woould relate in some way. One side being the man the other the woman. This involved looking into cinematography and body language.
To create a more interesting and practical way of presenting the text, i decided on stop motion-its raw process is something to be desired.
During the project i started looking at light and how it could be relevant to the final piece. The Battles music video focuses on shadows in accordance to audio. I experimented with this in After Effects.
Eventually though, timing and planning went to shit – although i took all neccassery footage for the stop motion – organising this into After Effects was a nightmare although “stacking images” in Photoshop created an easy animation to start with.
Unhappy with the fact i wouldnt be able to finish the piece to a standard id be happy with nor that would reflect the narrative and research, i went back to basics. I found a newly released drum and bass track that basically made me laugh and would make a comical final piece, yet reflect our After Effect tutorials with Holly.
I have every intention of completing my planned piece to add to my portfolio. However im frustrated that i couldnt finish it for the final piece.
PLEASE CHECK THE WEBPAGE THATS SOON TO BE UPLOADED FOR ALL RESEARCH REGARDING THE MOTION GRAPHICS PROJECT
